Stephanie is a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy specialist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), therapist, wellness and corporate educator, specializing in therapy in the state of Kentucky and Virginia. She is the founder of Bluegrass Counseling Services, Inc. (BSC), and is internationally certified in Clinical Hypnotherapy. Stephanie founded BSC in order to provide comprehensive, top-quality mental, emotional and behavioral healthcare. She also holds an administrator license and a clinical supervision certification for the alcohol and other drug entity (AODE) within the practice.
Stephanie has over 20 years experience providing mental and behavioral healthcare services, with a background in collaborative and clinical services to children, teens, and adults in both community and private practices. She is licensed to assess, diagnosis and treat mental, emotional and behavioral health disorders. Her background also includes work and board membership with non-profits addressing and aiding the homeless population. Stephanie specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and hypnosis strategies in treating adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, dual diagnosis, grief, narcissistic abuse, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), relational problems, stress related disorders, trauma, women’s issues and wellness strategies in teens and adults of all ages.
Stephanie practices evidence and empirically based treatment, through a strength-based practice model. Her therapeutic approaches include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy-Mindfulness (REBT), Insight-Oriented Therapy, and Hypnosis. She has a special interest in working with highly sensitive people (HSP), developing emotional intelligence (EQ), and helping teenagers and young adults build a healthy self-image.
Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, graduating with honors from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Clinical Social Work Degree from the University of Kentucky. Also, Stephanie studied in England, where she furthered her interest in holistic healing and wellness.
Stephanie cultivates her creativity through writing poetry, gardening, photography and hiking with her family (the furry ones, too), in awe-inspiring nature.
